Windows 11 will arrive on 5 October
Windows 11 is on its way and anyone who owns a computer running Windows 10 will receive the eleventh version as a free update. Windows Update will notify you of its availability and allow you to check compatibility with your hardware.
The minimum requirements for Windows 11 are:
- Processor of at least 1GHz with 2 or more cores on a compatible 64-bit processor
- 4GB RAM memory
- Storage device of at least 64GB
- Screen > 9 inches with HD resolution
- Internet connection and a Microsoft account
The main new features of this operating system are:
- New design
- Revamped start menu
- Snap mode for improved window management
- Integrated Microsoft Teams chat
- Widget
- Optimisation for gaming and performance enhancement
- New system apps
The first version, however, will not have all the announced features, such as support for Android apps, which will come in subsequent updates, as happened with Windows 10.
In case you don't have a compatible PC don't worry, Windows 10 will be supported until 14 October 2015.
