Samsung illuminates Bangkok landmark with 200 million pixels

Korea, 29 March 2022 - Samsung Electronics today announced a new partnership with MQDC's The Forestias, Thailand's largest property development project, which combines forests with residences and commercial areas.

Through this partnership, Samsung will provide its cutting-edge display technology, The Wall, to The Forest Pavilion located at the heart of the project in Bangkok to showcase the most immersive cinematic experience. The Wall is the world's first modular MicroLED technology that offers incredible definition, with no restrictions on size, resolution or shape. This innovation enables a 360-degree theatre in The Forest Pavilion that allows the audience to enjoy a unique visual experience.

The high-definition MicroLED wall display measures 38.707 m x 3.628 m for a total area of 140.43 m². The video screen consists of 384 cabinets arranged in a line to produce one continuous 360-degree image consisting of four sides, with a resolution of 46,080 x 4,320 pixels (or approximately 200 million pixels).

The 'Chamber of Secrets' is the highlight within The Forest Pavilion, offering an extraordinary immersive experience that surrounds the viewer with vivid images in vivid yet natural colours, enhanced by the cutting-edge innovation of The Wall motore's industry-leading picture quality that delivers lifelike images.

Samsung's The Wall is the only innovation in 360° animated cinema that helps deliver a mesmerising immersive experience by showcasing The Forest Pavilion, which currently serves as a retail gallery and will soon be transformed into a shared learning centre for its residents.
