What's new in Veeam Backup version 6 for Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is used daily on countless computers, but unfortunately does not contain an integrated backup. This is where Veeam comes in, available since November 2016, as a backup and recovery solution for Office packages.

On the 9th of this month, the new version of the software was released. Its main purpose is to simplify data recovery and expand the list of cloud storage objects that can be integrated.

The new version contains a self-service restore portal with which users can restore accidentally deleted data themselves, thus saving a lot of time for administrators who previously had to do this work themselves.

Veeam v.6 also now adds backup to Amazon S3 Glacier, Glacier Deep Archive and Azure Archive to the secondary backup options already included in previous versions.

In summary, version 6 includes the following features:

• Automation and scalability for enterprise companies and service providers
• Saving time in recovery management
• Increased security with MFA two-factor authentication to restore data
• Secure recovery with a secondary copy of data in low-cost object storage
